Just want to send a big shout out to the Crew at Nsalo Salon. They were most gracious in having me display my art in their Salon. It was a good turnout for a Fourth Friday Gallery Crawl. I was fortunate enough to sell three pieces. The prints really seem to be in people's price range and they have a great size to them. 16x20. I am hoping to sell more prints and stickers as I go along. I had a great time and am grateful for all who came through. Thanks again.

Grateful for people who buy artwork.

This past couple of weeks has been inspiring and motivating. I have sold a few pieces to friends via social media, facebook and instagram. These tools are helping me share what I am working on, what I have for sale and so forth. I want to thank Jason Smith, Holly Jackson, and Todd Carignan for purchasing artwork recently. I also sent a piece to my High School mentor and teacher Mrs. Janice Knestrick.

Jason Smith of Seattle Washington purchased this for his collection.

Photography Magic

This past Sunday afternoon, I headed out to a local park. Greenfield Lake was the destination. I was going on a Photography walk. I was in search of some nice shots of the local wildlife. This park is known specifically for the cypress trees and local alligators. I was a little more interested in the birds. They have blue and grey herons. These are large birds and quite impressive to see flying around. After a nice stroll around the path, I got to the back side of the park and got off the paved path and walked down into a creek and noticed a blue heron and a white heron sitting statuesque. Once I changed the setting on my Nikon D5000 to the action setting with no flash, I walked slowly in hopes of capturing a great photo. The birds did not disappoint, flying around and showing off a bit. With all the movement, I wasn't sure if I got even one decent photo. Cut to: Thursday evening after work, dinner, etc. I headed out to the "shdave" or david's shed as my step daughter and wife call it. I went to transfer all the photos from that walk and to my surprise I was gifted with an incredible photo. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have....I still can't believe it. As with most shoots I only got "the one" on this shoot, the rest of the flying birds were blurred, dark, and unremarkable.

Day 3 of working on the website.

I am really enjoying playing with this website. It has been a long time coming. I have also grown to like using Squarespace and their website builder. In the beginning it wasn't as intuitive as I thought it would be. That being said, with a little trial and error, it has become fairly easy to use and design with. I am going to continue to build, experiment, and explore where all of these things can take my artwork.  I am excited to think about putting the pieces together to share ideas, sell products, as well as connect with others. It seems as if technology has gotten very user friendly and is less and less frustrating. Thanks for checking in, I will keep you posted. D

First Blog on my new website.

It has been a while since I had my website live. I took it down for a while to focus on family life. I was engaged and we were getting ready for the wedding. Now that life has settled in quite nicely, and I have been given a beautiful place to work it is time for me to share my love of drawing and design. I am excited at taking the next step with my artwork. I have always created art, but never focused on the selling and sharing of the work. The time has come for me to allow the gifts in front of me. All this new technology can be overwhelming at times, yet I am going to keep it simple: create, design, and produce awesome stuff and provide it to people who dig it.

That being said, I am embarking on a new journey where instagram, facebook, and tribes of artists come together and have a place to share, express, and experience like no one has before. I find it exciting, nerve wracking, fulfilling, and am hopeful of learning and growing.
